Sueyoshi Water Distribution Station is a facility that stores and distributes purified water from the waterworks of Kawasaki City, and is installed on a hill in Yokohama City. Reservoir (Haisuichi = underground tank) is lined up on the premises. There is a long staircase on the northeast side, but there is a large difference in elevation on the land, and the Tsurumi River flows at a low position on the east side. From here, the No. 2 water distribution main of purified water goes under the Tsurumi River and heads for Kawasaki City. In the past, this water distribution main crossed the Tsurumi River, and the work passage at the top of the pipe was used freely by neighboring residents as a water pipe bridge. The water pipe bridge has been free to pass since its completion in 1954, and the blue bridge has become a part of the local landscape. In the recent water supply reconstruction plan in Kawasaki City, a stronger water distribution main was newly installed in the basement of the Tsurumi River, and the old water distribution main was completely removed in the spring of 2017. Since the removal plan was announced, there was a strong request from neighboring residents to install a bridge, but at this point (2019-01), it seems that there are no plans to build a new bridge. The distribution reservoir (elevation 45.5m) is built at the Nagasawa Water Purification Plant (elevation 78m) of the Kawasaki City Waterworks Bureau in the northwestern part of Kawasaki and the Nishi Nagasawa Water Purification Plant (elevation 83.4m) of the Kanagawa Prefectural Wide Area Waterworks Corporation. The purified water is sent to this point mainly using gravity.
