As a measure against vermin, there are fences at the entrance and rope guards at several places on the ruins of the castle (it is OK if you dive from below), so please follow the instructions. You can see the circle of 3 near the summit, and it is good to enjoy the scenery unique to Yamashiro. A numbered sign will come out from this area. Basically, if you move along this sign, you can see the defense of castles such as Horikiri, 2 circles, and the main enclosure in order. After reading the explanation of the castle and the tragic tradition of Meotoiwa in the main enclosure, follow the number signs to see the main ridge-shaped pits of this castle. It seems to be a rare point of defense in a castle near here, but considering that the castle has fallen, it can be imagined that it was defeated by an army more than expected. After looking through it, go down the same road as the mountain trail and return. Since I have seen the ruins of a castle without buildings as it is, I felt that the evaluation was about ☆ 3, but since I could see the mechanism of the ridged vertical moat group, the evaluation is ☆ 4. After descending the mountain, it is also recommended to visit Meotoiwa, which was caused by the tragedy caused by the fallen castle.

The maintenance activities of the local people have been wonderfully fruitful. The trail is steep, but obstacles have been removed and it is easier to walk. You can reach the summit in about 10 minutes. A stake with numbers 1 to 10 is erected near the top of the mountain. Climbing along it will take you to scenic viewpoints, happy bells, cherry blossoms and azaleas. I visited this time on April 10, 2021, but the Yoshino cherry tree in the vicinity was mostly leafy cherry blossoms, and the Yoshino cherry tree near the top of the mountain was still full of flowers. The remains of Yamashiro include deep Horikiri and ridge-shaped pits, flat ground such as Honmaru and Ninomaru, and earthworks. In particular, the vertical moat group is densely packed on the steep slope on the east side, and many of them can be clearly seen, so I think it is a very valuable remains. At the highest site of Honmaru, there is the foundation of the shrine that was once there, and a monument is erected. There is also a commemorative card made by the locals.
