I used it when heading to Takanosu from Kakunodate Station on the Akita Inland Line. It's a short walk from the station, but the parking lot is wide and easy to use.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2019年10月利用。無料！JR角館駅前ロータリー西側の交差点スグ南、道路の法面上にある広い駐車場。「田町山駐車場」という表示はなく、「角館駅駐車場」という小さな案内板が入口直前にありました。
駐車場の一番奥に、下の道に降りる階段があります。
武家屋敷通りまで徒歩10分前後なので、この無料駐車場はとてもお得です！
Used in October 2019. free! A large parking lot on the slope of the road, south of the intersection on the west side of the rotary in front of JR Kakunodate Station. There was no indication of "Tamachiyama parking lot", and there was a small information board called "Kakunodate station parking lot" just before the entrance.
At the far end of the parking lot, there is a staircase that goes down the road.
This free parking lot is a great deal as it is about a 10-minute walk to Bukeyashiki Street!

無料なので気軽に利用できる。高台にあるので駅側に降りるのは階段なのでベビーカーでは厳しかった。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 角館駅から数百メートルくらい歩いた丘の上にある無料駐車場。角館駅の利用の際や武家屋敷方面への訪問の際に使えると思います。ただし、ここから武家屋敷の端や（桜の時期の）河川敷まで片道1キロ～1.5キロくらいありますので、ある程度歩ける体力のある方向けでしょうね（武家屋敷や河川敷の近辺には広い有料駐車場があります）
