★ ★ ★ ★ ★ NO, NO, NO. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE. As a previous person affiliated with this school, please choose another school. There are many excellent international schools in Tokyo but this is certainly not one of them. The reviews of the former students here on google reviews are true and very accurate. Profit is the only reason this school was established and continues to run.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Agree with other comments. Sad to say, almost anywhere else is better. I had three kids there. Wildly inconsistent education, school policy enforcement, and teacher ability (long-term local hire teachers remain despite poor performance), declining quality, rising tuition, lower overall satisfaction level. School is not creating leaders but conformists. What good is an international school education if it doesn’t prepare students to be free thinkers?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were visiting different schools to see where our kids could attend. This school's admission officer was least welcome and even aggressive towards our kids.
My kids were raised in the Dutch school system and were said not to be up for the task for the high requirements at this school.
My kids were happily accepted by another international school that does invest in their English skills and after school academic support. My kids didn't need any of the latter much as it turns out the Dutch school system is not so bad after all.
Now after six months, They achieve A and B grades now. Thanks to a great eal programme and excellent and very motivated teachers.
Reading the other reviews of Kist this would have never happened at Kist.
Please consider other good schools like new IS in ikebukuro or saint maur in yokohama.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We checked out K Intl and were not impressed by their Kindergarten. They seemed to pressure that it's best to get our kid in 'early' to get in the school.
Check out Bingo International Kindergarten in the Katsushika area. They price themselves as low as they can in order to get as much talent in the school as possible. They have a truly international balance of kids and are non-religious. Focus is on music, art, science and community.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My son joined K. International in Junior High School after returning from 4 years in Canada. Since the curriculum at KIST is all IB, it is very academic oriented, which I feel was a positive change for my son. Yet the school still offers a variety of clubs and sports team to help develop well rounded students.
KIST is excellent at communicating with parents/guardians, keeping you well informed as to what is taking place at the school and provides a supportive environment for all. The parents’ organization is also very welcoming and supportive of both the school program and the students school life.
During the 2019/20 school year, we experienced a worldwide pandemic which forced KIST to close its doors and turn to online schooling. The handling of this situation, the communication provided and the swift adjustment to a very rigorous and thorough online schedule, was particularly impressive.
I have no hesitation to recommend KIST to anyone looking for an international education for your child in Tokyo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honestly it wasn’t that bad back in the day when the campus was in Higashi-Suna, it had a pool and everything. As they moved to their current campus the school started to value itself as a business to make money rather than educate and care about its students. One of the most recent examples is that they have increased school fees and asks parents to pay more so that they’re able to afford to build a new school building. The demolition of their current building was supposed to start last summer “no matter what” as per the admin team. However nothings been done. Therefore, you’re being scammed. In addition to that just look at the other reviews, the one star rated ones have like 50+ likes and the higher ratings have almost no likes, tells you the real story.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hi. This is a response to your response. I appreciate your response, I am doing perfectly fine at the University of Sydney.
I would like to suggest you to take a more in-depth look into why KIST is not the best fit for all students and families. I think a school should be a safe place for all students, to promote inclusivity and diversity. It is hard to believe that KIST has a diverse environment(as they claim) when they only allow students and families that align with their specific values and academic goals.
Best of Wishes,
Zac

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My son absolutely loved his experience at this school attending it with motivation, enthusiasm, a big smile on his face and lots of new learnings in his mind every day. K International School Tokyo is a school that aspires to high standards, and is also a place where the unique qualities of each student is nurtured and developed. School integrates compassion into the teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of the classes and activities. The management is also great - attentive and responsive. I highly recommend it!
Thank you, K International School for making our 3 years stay in Tokyo even more pleasant.
