★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 平安時代に建てられ、鎌倉～室町時代まで、山岳信仰の中心的な役割を果たしていた。本堂には幸田町の指定文化財である本尊の「木造薬師如来像」や脇侍の「木造十二神像」などが安置されている。

その先はこじんまりした境内ってレイアウトが良いかもしれない。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ このお寺にある仁王像（境内の奥の方）は明治維新の廃仏毀釈論の際に近くにある石川の川底に埋めて、後日掘り起こして守り抜こうとした地元から愛された像だったと言う逸話が残されており、それを聞いて感動してしまいました。結果として木造だった像はボロボロになってしまいましたが、大切にされていると言う感じが伝わって良かったです。
境内はそれほど大きくありませんが、正面の門には新しい仁王像が鎮座していますので、そちらも眼光鋭く立派です。
逸話については最寄りの川である石川の橋のほとりにあるお地蔵さんの近くに看板が立ててあるのでそちらで確認できます。
The anecdote that says that the statue of Nioh (inward of the precinct) in this temple was buried in the riverbed of Ishikawa near by during the abolition of the Buddha Buddha of the Meiji Restoration, and it was an image loved by the locals who tried to dig up and protect later. Was left and I was moved to hear it. As a result, the statue was a wooden statue, but it was good to convey the feeling that it was being valued.
The precincts are not very large, but there is a new statue of Nioh in the front gate, so it is also bright and impressive.
