M	Maurice Belmondo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ７世紀創建の真言宗智山派の古刹。 1868年に河井継之助と岩村精一郎が会見した「小千谷会談」の舞台として有名で、拝見しませんでしたが本堂の会見の間が残されています。（基本、本堂内見学は事前予約みたいです）それに関する記念碑と司馬遼太郎が『峠』執筆取材に来た記念碑もあります。何より、登録有形文化財の明治時代に造られた山門と船岡観音が歴史を感じさせ、すばらしいものです。堂内中央には観音像安置されておりましたが、新しいものだったので弘法大師が彫ったとされる本尊の聖観世音菩薩ではないですね。また、幼稚園もあり遊び場になっていました。 An ancient temple of the Shingon sect Chiyama school founded in the 7th century.
