S	Sekine Hisao on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 弘法大師（空海上人）が中国から持ち帰った、桂の枝を杖にして薬草の採取をしていている際、挿した杖より芽吹き大樹になったという桂の木。木の根元には石像が祀られており「桂大師」と呼ばれている。湯舟川を登り、修善寺奥の院をさらに登ると左手に湯舟川ふれあい公園が見えてくる。それをさらに進むと左手に駐車場があるので、そこで車を停ると山道に案内板が見えてくる。川の上流のため、丸太の橋がかかった小さな川を何回か渡るとその先に見えてくる。駐車場からは20分程度 A katsura tree that Kobo Daishi (Kukai Jinshi) brought back from China and became a sprouted big tree from the inserted cane when collecting herbs using a katsura branch as a cane. ど	どんぐりくん on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山のなかにひっそりあります。湯舟川ふれあい公園から、歩いていけます。片道1.5キロくらいあり、往復で1時間半くらいはたっぷりかかります。険しい山道を、登るので足の悪い方などはとても行ける場所ではありません。途中、川をわたるのに細い橋をわたったりします。一部、木が腐っている所もあり注意が必要です。大きな桂の木の根の隙間にできた、隙間に弘法大師の石造がまつってあり。桂大使と呼ばれています。静岡県指定の天然記念物にしていされています。
