★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昔、「岩清水」の近くに、黒い斑点がある銀色の蛇が棲んでいた。
村人は霊蛇として崇めていたが、寒風山麓にある「宗泉寺」の徳善民道和尚が見ると、この蛇はやがて天に昇るときに天変地異を起こすものと秘法で岩に閉じ込めた。
この石を「封蛇石」という。
この蛇は、閉じ込められるとき「万病平癒成就・大漁満足・諸縁吉祥を男女に与える」と誓ったため、村人は「岩清水大竜王」として祀るようになった。
「封蛇石」の下から湧き出す清水に浸かると、足腰の病が癒えるといわれ子授けにも御利益があると伝えられている。
