★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 片側の塚のみ現存…だが、これは京側に向かっての左塚ではなく右塚である。初期の中山道は現存する塚の南側を通っていたのだが、中山道の拡幅と蛇行改修の結果、街道の外側に取り残された。
Only one mound is extant... but this is the right mound, not the left mound toward the Kyo side. The early Nakasendo passed through the south side of the existing mound, but as a result of the Nakasendo's widening and meandering repairs, it was left outside the highway.
