★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天狗壁は、凝灰岩に覆われ、手取川の川岸に斧で削られたような絶壁をなし、岩の上に古松が生茂り、手取川の激流に削りとられた断崖と老松の織りなす景観は見事な景勝地となっています。
この岩の上からの景観は手取川の扇状地帯を一望のもとに見渡すことができ、古来よりこの天狗壁の山上に天狗が棲んでいたという伝説があり、一名「天狗山」ともいい、白山三社の一つである「岩根宮」が鎮座していたとも伝えられています。
この天狗壁は、明治から大正、昭和にかけて、石材を切り出した洞穴が多数あり、四つのトンネルがあけられ満身創痍である。一番深いところから明治三十二年に掘削された宮竹用水の隋道、手取川沿いに窓をつけながら掘られた弘化四年（1847）の二ヶ用水の隋道、昭和六年に完成した北陸鉄道能美線のトンネル、昭和四十四年に和佐谷までの通路として掘られた林道のトンネルがあります。
The Tengu wall is covered with tuff and forms a cliff like an ax on the banks of the Tedori River. Old pine trees grow on the rocks, and the cliffs carved by the torrent of the Tedori River and the old pine landscape are wonderful. It is a scenic spot.
The landscape from the top of this rock overlooks the alluvial fan of the Tedori River, and there is a legend that tengu lived on the mountain of this tengu wall from ancient times. It is also said that "Iwanemiya", one of the three companies, was enshrined.
From the Meiji era to the Taisho era and the Showa era, this Tengu wall has many caves cut out of stone, and four tunnels have been opened to create a full-blown wound. The tunnel of Miyatake irrigation water excavated from the deepest part in 1902, the tunnel of two irrigation water of Koka 4th year (1847) dug along the Tedori River with a window, in 1947. There is a completed Hokuriku Railroad Noumi Line tunnel and a forest road tunnel dug as a passage to Wasadani in 1945.
