★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 境内の杉は1187年、源義経が奥州へ落ち延びる際に伊須流岐神があらわれ『山中は危ないので山を越えて海へ出たほうが良い』とのお告げのお礼に植えて行ったという言い伝えがあります。
ちなみに山を越えたところにある『馬下』という地名は、笹川流れの断崖に一行が阻まれ、義経が下馬したのが由来と言われています。
