★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden izakaya in a basement. All of the dishes we ordered were delicious - ordering about 5-6 dishes and the two of us were stuffed. Some of the surprising dishes for us were the shiao mai, the eggplant with rice cakes, and the egg omelette. Chicken karagge with ponzu was also yum!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simple and delicious Japanese teishoku (定食) lunch with great ambience at Gohanya Isshin. Loved the rice. Warabimochi was a hit too! Shoes off at this restaurant!
Very busy lunch time with long queues though. No reservations. Prices reasonable at lunch - sets start at 1000 yen.

Small portions of dishes so you can order more to try out different one . Gohan is the must order and didn’t disappoint us. Service is good and so will definitely visit again . Hidden gem in Daikanyama area .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has become very popular, the line can be 0minutes to 2hours long, so try to come at a not so busy time. The food is of incredibly high quality! I got the kakuni(braised pork) set, and oh my gawd, it blew me away! Everything was prepared so well and the flavours matched really nicely too! They offer free rice refills too, so you will definitely never leave this place feeling unsatisfied or still hungry! The interior is really clean and well decorated too. Would recommend for good Japanese style cooking!
