北田山如意輪寺と号し聖徳太子の開基と伝えられています。
中興は証宝理源大師です。
本尊は六の如意輪観世音菩薩(脇仏は不動明王と毘沙門天です。)で安産、子授かりとして霊験あらたかと云われています。
昔は讃岐十五ケ院(西讃五ケ院)の一院として寺領百二十石を有し院家格にて丸亀藩の祈雨の寺として栄えました。
天正年間は土佐の長曽我部元親軍の兵火にかかり焼失しましたが、その後復興されて七堂伽藍の寺として今日に至ります。
境内には鎌倉時代後期の作風を伝える橘城城主大平国秀とその一族の供養塔(三豊市指定の有形文化財)が有ります。県下でも大変貴重な遺物と成っています。

に成っております。
Special Motoyama Ishanain Shingon Buddhism
It is said to be the founding of Prince Shotoku under the name of Kitadayama Nyoirinji Temple.
Zhongxing is a Shoho Rigen Daishi.
The principal image is the Roku no Nyoirin Kanzeon Bosatsu (the side Buddhas are Fudo Myo and Bishamonten), and it is said that they have a safe delivery and a spiritual test as a childbirth.
In the olden days, it had 120 stones in the temple territory as a temple of Sanuki Jyugoin (Seisan Gogain) and prospered as a temple of prayer rain of the Marugame domain.
During the Tensho era, it was burnt down by the fire of the former Chosokabe Motochika of Tosa, but it was reconstructed and continues to this day as the temple of Shichido Garan.
In the precincts, there is a memorial tower (a tangible cultural property designated by Mitoyo City) of Kunihide Ohira, the owner of Tachibana Castle, and his family, which conveys the style of the late Kamakura period. It is a very valuable relic even in the prefecture.
