★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 備前焼ではめずらしい女流作家の窯であり、現在は川井明美氏が作陶を行っている。
ちなみに初代小西陶古の孫であり、小西陶藏氏のいとこにあたる。
男性作家ではなかなか見かけない、曲線的で柔らかい造形の器が目立つ(筆者も曲線美を誇る自由碗を購入)。
人当たりが良く明るい人柄で、話を聞いてて飽きなかった。また、氏の体験談について、貴重なお話を伺うことができた。
都市圏でも個展などを積極的に開催しているので、県外でも触れる機会があるかもしれない。
とはいえ、備前焼感謝祭(コロナ禍による備前焼まつりの代替措置)の時期に訪れたのでアポ無しで行けたが、普段は事前に問い合わせた方が手堅いと思う。

Since he actively holds solo exhibitions in the metropolitan area, he may have the opportunity to come in contact with them outside the prefecture.
However, since I visited during the Bizen ware Thanksgiving (an alternative to the Bizen ware festival due to the corona sword), I could go without an appointment, but I think it is usually better to inquire in advance.
