★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you’re in the Kawasaki area it’s worth checking out. If you don’t want to make the trip to Shirakawa-go then the Open-air Folk House Museum is a good alternative. The Taro Okamoto Museum of Art is also worth seeing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ikuta Ryokichi is one of my favorite park?There are blue train and steam train that children like?.The most important thing is the Planetarium?￥400 for ticket, free for middle school students and younger.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to spend a (half) day with the family.
Access to the park itself is free, parking fee is 200¥ per hour. On weekends the parking is usually full after 11 and you need to wait... Not unusual to see 20 cars waiting.
If you find by bicycle that's plenty of parking, and it's free!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely fabulous place to spend a beautiful day. Wear something long because there's plenty of hungry mosquitoes. Planetarium is good enough. The park is huge and let's you feel like in a remote forest. When going through the folk museum, entry ¥500, you'll completely forget that you're 3 min away from the hustle and bustle of the city near by. One of the best open air museums within city's limits. Forest, birds singing, houses like they were 300 years ago. A must visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent place in Tama to spend a day outdoors with the kids. Very wide and green part even with a golf court.
There is also paid Historical museum, restaurants and train cart where the kids could definitely enjoy riding.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ikuta Ryokuchi, this is little hidden from tokyo and you wouldn’t believe what it holds.
This as many museums with huge park where it is good for picnic and walking.
This place will amaze you for sure, it is surrounded by trees so it looks like a forest inside city.
Please give a visit and you will enjoy for sure

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful park with lots of green space. Many place to sit and relax while taking in a fresh air. These days there aren’t many people there so it’s an even better opportunity to has time to yourself. If you are interested in doing more than just enjoying the environment there is an art gallery within the park and a kominka heritage museum close by.
