平成29(2017)年9月吉日 まちづくり推進隊高瀬 高瀬百景実行委員会 『下女塚』 舟型地蔵 宝歴4年 (1754) 供養塔 寛政11年 (1779) 昔、この池を堤防とする勝間次郎という大池がありましたが、たび重なる堤防決壊のため女の人柱をたてることになりました。
これをもれ聞いた庄屋婦人と下女は、ともに自らその人柱になりました。
村人は、二人の霊をとむらうため婦人を池八幡神社に、下女を下女塚に祀りました。 高瀬町
