J	Jason Baidenmann on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very depressing experience. It is clear that zoologists were not involved in the design of this zoo or care of the animals. Many of the animals showed signs of high stress. The cages were concrete, with no plants, and the animals seemed malnourished, lonely, and sad. This place should be reported and shut down.

My girlfriend and I paid around 1000 yen each and expected to see happy cute animals. Instead we left in tears after seeing the otters literally clawing at the rusty cage trying to escape, the white racoon hiding away, traumitised in it’s bare enclosure and the king of the jungle - the lion, still and shivering in its pitiful excuse for a cage. I would recommend visitors to okayama stay away so this zoo is shutdown for good. Will be reporting it.
B	Brian Mess on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It wasn't a bad zoo, but a little small compared to others. There are no tigers or elephants, but there are a variety of other animals. It's built into the side of a mountain, though, so don't expect an easy walk. It isn't very handicapped accessible.

The cages and zoo are small and a little dirty but they have an old arcade, a ride were you peddle above the zoo, a petting zoo and they walk their flamingoes so you can pet and take pictures with them. If you have time and some friends or family I would recommend it. For kids I would recommend also taking them to the zoo and the park just north of the zoo.

It has most common wild animals such as 2 lions, a giraffe, some attractions and other games, you can feed the animals. but doing so will cost you a few yen. The parking isn't free either so....there is a restaurant and some ice cream (kids will love it) but we found the portions a bit too small at the restaurant. And I don't really need much to feel full. But I thought the portions were too small for the price paid. Maybe they should add a little more or reduce the price? Just a suggestion. But overall the kids loved the place.

Description of the area: ————————— ? - Ikeda Zoo: There is a bus route which runs in the general vicinity of Ikeda Zoo, it is a 12 minute walk from the bus stop to the zoo, assuming you know which way to walk. A more reasonable method for visitors to access the zoo is to catch a taxi at the JR Okayama train station. The ride takes about 8 minutes, and my taxi fare from Okayama Station to the zoo was 1060 yen. (For some reason, the return trip taxi fare was only 980 yen). ? - Price: * Adult - (1080 yen). * Junior high school student - (800 yen). * Junior school student - (600 yen). * Kids - (300 yen). ? - Hours: [9:30 - 17:00]. ————————— ? ? ?
