晴明白龍大神縁起碑の由緒を読むと
「岡崎発展の歴史には､その基礎に井田城の存在があり､徳川３百年の泰平に大きな役割を果たしたのであります。
応仁より天文年間までの約百年に亘り､特筆される激戦が４回もあり､いわゆる井田野の合戦と云われ､これに勝ち抜いたので､やがて徳川が覇を制することが出来たのであります。
ここは､岡崎城と大樹寺を結ぶ直線上にあり､連携もよく､眼下は一望の平野が開け､天然の堅塁としての地形を具備して居り､この井田城を守る代々の将兵は､強く(私達の祖先)､堅忍不抜､勇猛果敢の精神は､ここで培われ､父祖伝来の三河武士の魂は井田城に於て発揮されたのであります。
その三河武士魂を神格に表現し､晴明白龍大神と尊称して奉斎したものであります。」
