Opened in 1979. Since opening with Meikei Gakuen as the first high school in Tsukuba Science City, it has developed as a high school in the school city. Due to its favorable location in the center of the school city, it is now considered to be the second most difficult public high school in the southern district of Ibaraki Prefecture after Tsuchiura Daiichi High School, and has a high academic record (a few students from the University of Tokyo and 30 to 50 students from the University of Tsukuba). During the eight school districts until around 1992, the current Tsukuba city area was on the border of different school districts centered on the four cities of Shimotsuma, Mizukaido, Ryugasaki, and Tsuchiura. In addition to Tsuchiura's school district, including Sakuramura (at that time), it seems that the entire school city was a school district. Currently, there are only two prefectural ordinary high schools in Tsukuba City, other than the integrated junior and senior high schools, this high school and Tsukuba high school in the north. Moreover, Tsukuba High School is about 20km away from this high school, and because it is a small school, there is virtually only one school. Although there are 5 prefectural high schools including technical high schools, part-time high schools, and junior high and high schools, the number of students supplied is significantly smaller than the capacity of prefectural schools in Tsuchiura City, and our school is a difficult school. In addition, many high school students living in Tsuchiura City are in high schools in neighboring cities (Tsuchiura 1st, 2nd, Tsuchiura 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Eishin Ushiku, Ushihisa, etc.) and private high schools (Tsuchiura Nihon University, Tsuchiura Gakuin). , Kasumigaura, etc.).
