★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新聞で角井西瓜の事を見て記憶していたので、たまたま近くの他所に行った時に思い出し、立ち寄ってみました。初めてだったので少し不安ななか角井西瓜の看板を頼りに何とか到着。私達以外にもパラパラと途切れることなくお客さんが来られます。早速西瓜の品定めですが、安いとは言えませんが大玉のわりにはお安く希少な品種で当方は手頃なお値段と感じました。
新聞記事によると「三年前には、昭和十年過ぎから三十年代まで隆盛を極めた品種「富研（ふけん）号」の種が奈良県の種苗会社で見つかり、かつての産地に角井スイカを甦らせ、甘くてシャリ感がある伝説の味を引き継いでいる。」との事だったので、迷わず黒い縞模様の無い富研号を購入しました。キズがあるとの事でちょっとおまけもしてもらいました。またたまたま妻がお米がもう無くなるとの事でしたので、お米も30kg購入し、併せて新米の予約販売も申し込みして帰りました。スタッフの皆さんも親切に対応頂き、また来シーズンもお邪魔したいと思います。
