★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 江戸時代の本に書かれている事に、日間薬師のお堂に籠もった小野小町は南無薬師衆病悉除（なむやくししゅびょうしつじょ）の願立て身より佛の名こそ惜けれ。と詠んだところ薬師返歌、五月雨は只一時の物ぞかしをのがみのかたこゝにぬぎをけ。
意味としては「十二の誓願を立てた薬師如来様を心から信じます、薬師様の誓願通りすべての病をことごとく除いて下さい、そうでなければ私の身体のことよりも、薬師如来様の名が損なわれる事になり、耐えがたい思いがします。」、「永遠に続くかと思われる様な梅雨の雨は（村人の涙にも掛かる）実際にはただ一時のものでいつかは止むものです、後のことは心配せずに己（小野）の年を経て病を患っている身の容（形）はここに脱ぎ捨てて、魂は私の元へおいでなさい。」と読めます。
このことから日間山は小野小町終焉の地と思われます。
法輪寺には知られてはいませんが「小野小町座像」が伝承され祀られています。
