Located in the midst of other temples, it has serene grounds with a variety of interesting trees. It's known for its hall of statues of the 500 disciples of the Buddha, each carved with their own expression by famous sculptors from Kyoto in the Edo period. It's an amazing sight. What really added to the experience was the friendliness of the elderly man at the entrance, who asked each and every visitor where they had come from. I'd go again just to say hi to him!
