コンクリートといってもビルみたいではなく、あくまでも木材をコンクリートに変えて建てたといった感じのお寺ですね。
また、境内には石川数正の墓、芳春院妙西尼の墓があります。
そしてここ土呂の「本宗寺」は「本證寺」「上宮寺」「勝鬘寺」三河三か寺に並ぶ三河一向一揆の拠点でした。
以下本宗寺HPより抜粋
１５６３年、三河に広がった一向一揆の兵乱により、三河の本願寺派の主要な寺院道場は悉く破却され
宗門禁制の悲運を蒙ったため、本宗寺も広大なる伽藍（がらん）を取り壊され、
ここに寺は一時断絶するのやむなきに至りました。
１５８３年 家康の叔母 芳春院妙西尼（ほうしゅんいんみょうさいに）の再三にわたる懇請（こんせい）の結果、
宗門再興の赦免状（しゃめんじょう）が発せられ、本宗寺は最初に復興を許されました。
１６１１年、土呂の旧地に替えて 寺地を転々としていましたが、現在の平地山に御坊本宗寺が完成しました。
江戸時代には、平地山の丘陵地に、本堂・庫裡（くり）・対面所・書院等を備えた大坊舎において
教化を続けました。
１９５９年火災により本堂を焼失し、１９６４年鉄筋コンクリート造ではあるが、旧来の日本的伝統に基づいた新しい本堂が完成

In 1563, the main temple dojo of the Honganji school in Mikawa was destroyed by the Ikko-ikki war that spread to Mikawa.

The main hall was destroyed by fire in 1959, and although it was made of reinforced concrete in 1964, a new main hall based on the old Japanese tradition was completed.
