★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 江戸時代初期の1648年に旧拝殿、正門とともに建立されたコンパクトながらもこの神社の聖域にふさわしい荘厳な姿をした、国指定重要文化財。銅板葺き屋根の曲線は見事である。
随所に彫刻が施されているが、左側袖の彫刻に、河童が鷹に懲らしめられている木彫がある。
「左甚五郎がこの社殿を河童たちの助けを借りて一夜で建立したのだ」とか「建立中に切り損じの木材を馬淵川に捨てたもの河童になったのだ」などどいう伝説があるくらい、この神社と河童は縁が深い。「その後河童たちは悪さを重ねたので見かねた八幡神が使いの鷹に懲らしめさせた。」という場面なのだという。
A compact but majestic figure suitable for the sanctuary of this shrine, which was built in 1648 in the early Edo period along with the old hall of worship and the main gate, is a nationally designated important cultural property. The curves of the copper-roofed roof are spectacular.
There are carvings everywhere, but on the left sleeve, there is a wood carving in which a kappa is disciplined by a hawk.
Legend has it that "Hidari Jingoro built this shrine overnight with the help of kappa" and "the wood that was cut during the construction was thrown into the Mabechi River and became a kappa." There is a deep connection between this shrine and the kappa. "After that, the kappa were so bad that Hachiman God, who couldn't see it, disciplined his hawk."
