保田妙本寺 日郷師が、房総方面の弘教のおり宿泊した旧跡に、日学師が道場を建立したのが始まり。
昭和32年(1957年)4月 保田妙本寺及び末4ケ寺（顕徳寺、本乗寺、本顯寺、遠本寺）は、日蓮正宗に帰一した。
平成7年(1995年)5月 保田妙本寺、顕徳寺、遠本寺は離脱したが、本乗寺、本顯寺は日蓮正宗に残留。

May 1995: Yasuda Myohonji, Kentokuji, and Tohonji were separated, but Honjoji and Honjoji remained in Nichiren Shoshu.
