In the Edo period geographical magazine "New edition Musashi-Fudoki", there is a description of "Houkaizuka, located north of the village and a land of five-way four-way permit". It is located in a field in the northern highlands. It is said to be 13 shaku in height, so it may have been a fairly large tumulus at the time of construction. An excavation was carried out in 1930, but it seems that by this time the sealing material that had already covered the mounds had been peeled off and the ceiling stones had also been removed, revealing the horizontal-hole type stone chamber. The horizontal-hole type stone chamber, which is said to be made of Boso stone from Miura and Boso Peninsula, is a 5.9m-long stone chamber with a double structure consisting of three chambers. It is almost the same shape and size as the "Asama-sama Tumulus" in Denenchofu, Ota-ku. From that, it seems that it is estimated that the same designer. From the stone chamber, excavations such as rings 2, jasper balls 3, sheath 1 and corroded human bones and dozens of teeth as well as haniwa fragments were recorded. From these remains, the construction of the burial mound was in the 7th century. It is considered to be the last stone burial mound in the lower reaches of the Tama River around the third quarter.

On a hill near Kashigaya Station, there is a small enlightenment quietly hidden as if buried in the city area.

This seems to have been relocated, but it was pretty good. You can also climb the summit. Is there a staircase and a monument at the summit? Tombstone? There is something like The photo was taken from the west of the explanation board and the main part. Although it is a supplement, it is a little embarrassing because it is in the JA Ceresa parking lot, but if you like old burial mounds, you have to go!
