★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 良い場所でした。 途中の道路はチョピリ不安でしたが 場所そのモノも不思議な処 そこから見える景色も 抜群でした。また行きたい場所でした。 その時の天気で見え方に違いがあると おもうので たのしめそうです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 標高717mの夏虫山を中心として、比較的なだらかな山頂付近を近隣の牧場が放牧地として管理している。山頂周辺は牧草で草原になっているほか、一部ハイマツ植生を含む高山植物が見受けられる。
夏には牛を放牧しており、牧歌的な風景を楽しめる。また山頂への道路は途中から未舗装の砂利道、砂道となり、若干の悪路もある。
パラグライダーのスタートポイントとしても使用されている。パラグライダースクールを直線で1kmほど南のS.E.T三陸(遊・YOU・亭夏虫、夏虫のお湯っこ)が運営しており、天気が良いとパラグライダーの離陸が見られるかもしれない。
なお最寄のトイレ、飲み物、食事は車で20分ほど山道を下った「夏虫のお湯っこ」（温泉施設）に行かないと無い。長時間滞在時は水分を節制し携帯トイレ等を事前に準備するか、その辺りでひっそりと用を足すしかない。
夏虫山山頂付近から海を見ると、海の水平線より下に、山の峰や岬の先端、町などが見えて、東京近郊の出身居住者から見るとまるでみな水没しているかのような異様な光景に見える。それだけ三陸リアス式海岸の標高差、勾配はすごいということだろう。
都会育ちの人は、ここからの景色に非常に感動するに違いない。

In summer, we graze cattle and enjoy pastoral scenery. In addition, the road to the top of the mountain is unpaved gravel road and sand road along the way, and there are some bad roads.
It is also used as a starting point for paragliding. S. E. T. Sanriku (Yu ・ Yu ・ Natsukasushi, summer worm water bath) about 1km south of the Paragliding School is running, and if the weather is good, the paragliding may be seen taking off.
The nearest toilet, drinks and meals are about 20 minutes by car down the mountain path unless you go to the "Natsuamushi hot water bath" (hot spring facility). When staying for a long time, you have to control moisture and prepare a portable toilet etc. in advance, or you can only use it quietly in that area.
If you look at the sea from near the summit of Mt. Natsusushiyama, you can see the peaks of the mountain, the tip of the mountain, the town, etc. below the horizon of the sea, and it looks like it's totally submerged when you see from the Tokyo resident It looks like a strange scene. The difference in elevation and slope of the Sanriku Rias coast would be great.
People in urban areas must be very moved by the scenery from here.
