Located at the west end of the western ridge of the Kosai mountain range, it is the best view to see the Pacific Ocean that can be easily climbed from Futagawa Station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 標高はさほどでもないですが、その割に勾配が急なところもあり、なかなかハードです。眺めはいいですよ。
登山道はさまざまあり、道を変えればまた楽しめそうです。
The altitude is not so high, but the slope is steep for that, so it is quite hard. The view is nice.
There are various mountain trails, and if you change the trail, you can enjoy it again.

トレイルランやウォーキングや湖西連峰縦走の登山など色々な人達ともすれ違います?

You can climb from Futagawa in about 30 minutes, overlook Lake Hamana and Gamagori, and see the sunrise and the moon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 標高は三百メートルもないのですが、なかなか急な勾配の所もあります。それでも頂上まで登れば、眺めが良くて気分も高揚します。主に南側へと開けていて、遠州灘までも見る事ができます。
The altitude is less than three hundred meters, but there are some steep slopes. Still, if you climb to the top, the view is good and your mood is uplifting. It is mainly open to the south and you can see the Enshu Nada.

松明(たいまつ)峠の由来はここで山賊が松明を焚いて街道を歩く旅人を見張ったとか、旅人の松明をここから見つけて下山して襲ったとかないとか

二川駅から二川自然歩道の案内板を頼りに1時間弱で行けます。
火打坂方面からも林道から東山自然歩道経由で行けますが進入禁止私道や土石流跡や多数の不明瞭な踏み跡分岐がありあまりおすすめしません。
どちらも初心者向けのハイキングコースではありますが東山山頂直前の直登階段(150段くらい)はなかなかキツいものがあります。

You can get there in less than an hour from Futagawa Station by relying on the information board on the Futagawa Nature Trail.
You can also go from the forest road to Hiuchizaka via the Higashiyama Nature Trail, but it is not recommended because there are private roads, debris flow traces, and many unclear footstep branches.
Both are hiking trails for beginners, but the straight stairs (about 150 steps) just before the summit of Mt. Higashiyama are quite difficult.
