★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 江戸時代の半ばから養蚕が盛んだった桑折、昭和7年にはここに郡是製糸株式会社（現、グンゼ株式会社）の製糸工場が置かれました。昭和36年、郡是製糸桑折工場は本宮工場に併合されましたが、2年後の昭和38年には福島蚕糸販売農業協同組合連合会の工場が福島市より移転してきました。しかし国内の製糸業の衰退により福島蚕糸工場は平成15年に閉鎖され建物も解体されました。
東日本大震災後には心字の池や多行松のある庭園以外の場所に災害公営住宅が建てられましたが、公営住宅の閉鎖後は桑折町の歴史を語る場所として庭園が整備されました。
Koori, where sericulture flourished from the middle of the Edo period, established the silk reeling factory of Gunze Silk Co., Ltd. (currently Gunze Co., Ltd.) in 1952. In 1958, the Gunsei Ito Kuwaori Factory was annexed to the Motomiya Factory, but two years later, in 1963, the factory of the Fukushima Silk Thread Sales Agricultural Cooperative Association was relocated from Fukushima City. However, due to the decline of the domestic silk industry, the Fukushima silk thread factory was closed in 2003 and the building was demolished.
After the Great East Japan Earthquake, disaster public housing was built in places other than the garden with the Shinji pond and Tayukimatsu, but after the public housing was closed, the garden was developed as a place to talk about the history of Koori Town.
