大学のキャンパスがあるため学生の街の雰囲気があるものの、駅周辺はマクドナルドとコープがあるくらいで、他は多くの住宅も立ち並んでいる。
周りには店があまりないため、買物などは吉祥寺や三鷹まで出かけないと買い揃えれないところもあるが、学生が住むアパートが多そうな割には、夜は静かそうなところではある。
