★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 西暦860年慈覚大師円仁が宝珠山を開基する際、比叡山延暦寺に倣って山寺の守護神として近江国坂本の日吉大社より分霊し、祀ったのが始まりだそうですからこの神社も歴史が古いんですね。
ご祭神は大山昨命、大己貴命、伊邪那岐命、伊邪那美命、国常立命とあります。いずれも名が知れた神様ばかりなので有難い神社でした。
大いちょうのご神木や亀の甲石も本社に所属するようです。
It is said that this shrine has a long history since Ji-Kai Daishi Enjin opened the Hojuzan in 860 C.E., he began to separate and worship from Hiyoshi-taisha Shrine in Sakamoto, Omi-kuni as a guardian deity of the mountain temple, following Hieizan Enryakuji.
There are gods of gods such as Oyama Seimei, Omi Takamei, Iyoko Nakimei, Iyokonami, and the country standing. All were well-known deities, so they were very much appreciated.
It seems that giant sacred trees and turtle shells also belong to the head office.

山寺の守り神として古くからある神社だそうです。由緒ある神社との事です。
山寺立石寺にお越しの際は、ぜひお立ち寄り頂きたい神社です。
あと、写真をつけましたがお賽銭箱のところにいつも迷うお参りの仕方がイラスト付きでありますのでとっても親切です。

It is said that this shrine has a long history as a guardian deity of Yamadera. It is a historical shrine.
If you come to Yamadera Tateishi Temple, this is a shrine that you should definitely stop by.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 穏やかな気の流れる神社です。ご朱印をいただきました。社殿向かって右側には大正天皇とその后・貞明皇后に関する石碑がありました。

御朱印は500円と1000円とがありお守り等がつくと1000円です
立石寺でも御城が頂けますが寺と神社と御朱印帳は別けるよう注意書きがありました
芭蕉の静けさや~の舞台になった場所です
