It's been a long time since I visited here, and I remember that time well. It was a very nice and hot day. I've heard that it was the same day when the atomic bomb fell. When I was little, I had only the image of an atomic bomb and a yakuza for some reason, and after that, Hiroshima Carp, Mazda, and a tram were added to the image, but I didn't feel like visiting. It may be because the picture of the atomic bomb I saw when I was a kid was too intense. The trigger was "Yunagi no Machi Sakura no Kuni". This is Fumiyo Kono's book (comic). An illustration of the main character, Minami Hirano, sitting on a strangely shaped parapet while pinching a mandolin in the front spread. Perhaps at dusk, the expression of Minami staring into the distance, the calm city and sky like a calm, and the Atomic Bomb Dome reflected in the corner of the background were impressive. I was a little surprised when I learned that a strange balustrade actually existed. Actually, I was surprised that the name Minami was the name of a real town, so a little (laughs) Heiwa Bridge was visited by "Yunagi no Machi Sakura no Kuni", but the first impression was the Tower of the Sun! Art is an explosion. Since the illustration is a horizontal angle, it looks like a half moon, but when viewed from the front, it looks like a perfect moon or the sun. If you didn't know Isamu Noguchi, you would have thought it was designed by Taro Okamoto. Also, I found that it was impossible for Minami to sit in that pose (laughs). Looking at the Motoyasu River and the Atomic Bomb Dome on the banks of the bridge, I remember feeling that my feelings had settled down somewhere. Everyone wasn't actually sitting, but I felt like I was able to snuggle up a little ... I don't feel like doing it. Speaking of just a bridge, that's right, but I'm glad I came here. The shortest distance from Chuden-mae tram stop to "Tower of the Sun" is about 300m, about 4 minutes on foot. The balustrade is unexpectedly low, and there are many people who fall into the Motoyasu River ... I thought, but there didn't seem to be such a stupid person. I remember very well that I was relieved, not disappointed after researching various things.

Hiroshima is so peaceful! It is a bridge with the thought of reconstruction!
