September 26, 2021 I tried to get to Izumigatake via Masuzawa Forest Road from Hatasaka Campground, but I gave up because it was under construction. 2021 is until the end of November, so it seems impossible to pass until the spring of 2022

A campsite I used to go to. I was driving around, so I took a detour. I just encountered a city official setting up a sign. If you look closely, it says "Camping will be closed due to a state of emergency" ? If you have a plan for Golden Week, please note that you cannot camp. Also, I asked how long it will be closed, but it seems that it will not be possible while the state of emergency is declared ?

Recommended for those who want to enjoy nature and those who want to camp in the woods. important point ○ It takes about 40 to 50 minutes from the nearest town Be careful not to forget to shop. ○ Since it is a campground in the mountains, mobile radio waves cannot be received. ○ Wild animals may appear. ○ At night, you will be scared of silence and darkness. ○ It may be difficult for women and people with a lot of luggage because they walk a little from the parking lot. If you are uneasy, even from the day camp I recommend it.

When I come near by motorcycle, I watch with interest, but it's still wild for the Self-Defense Forces. I've stayed there about 3 times (unavoidably ...) for school events and accompanying children, but it's a tough place that makes me "dislike camping", so I don't recommend camping here for beginners. From the hard experience here, I always wondered "what is fun about camping ..." (sweat) I enjoyed the campfire, but I definitely don't recommend it because the real bear is rustling nearby and someone doesn't come back, or the threatening role is dangerous!

The local sign is not a campsite but a campsite. It ’s like putting a tent in a normal forest. When I went in the evening, there were only about 4 groups. I didn't turn around so much so I didn't know the size. After withdrawing at night, if you climb the mountain and return to noon, is it a car for barbecue? There were about 20 cars, so it may have been fairly wide. There is a toilet just a short walk from the parking lot. I think that it can be used normally because it is washed with water (except for insects) If you walk about 30 meters from there, there is a shared water place and a kamado, and the tent place is about 10 meters above the stairs next to it. The toilet in the middle of the night seemed to be difficult

To be correct, Hanasaka Campground In addition to the camp, there is a promenade, which is enough for hiking. However, hiking is not a place to go with a half-hearted feeling.

It was sunny in Taiwa-cho, so if I was relieved, it was snowing from the middle of the road. There was a light snowstorm only near the campsite, so it felt like I had come to another world, but I was relieved that there were several climbers and campers. I think it is a valuable place where you can meet beautiful nature if you are careful about snow and gusts. I stayed overnight with my child.

Not recommended as a camp ground but it is also the trailhead with free parking lot. I add my hiking experience below for those who are looking for more details. I had a chance to hike the Mt. Funagata on August 18th. There were only few flowers around but the weather was great and the scenery at the summit was breathtaking. Here is some helpful details. There are 3 main hiking trails and another path connecting the Mt. Izumigatake. I was planning to start from the Otaki trail but unfortunately the road shown on the Google map was not for regular cars. So I ended up with the Hatasaka trail. There is a camp ground and free parking area here. You can see the trail map and the details. The altitude is 620 here so the total elevation was 880 m. It is 7.5 km and 4hr 10 min is the suggested time to hikeU up. After 3.9 km there is a connection path to the Otaki trailhead. Considering the challenging path after this point I decided to go to the Otaki trail head to make the peak and return from the Hatasaka trail to make the loop. The length of the total trial for both sides are almost the same but it is much easier this way. Check the photos. I made the summit in 3,5 hrs including the resting times. There is no water supply except the creek on the Hatasaka trail. After about 4 km you walk through the creek. Luckily it wasn’t raining but was very slippery. Do not recommend this path on a rainy day. Most of the path was narrow and bamboo grass and bushes are making it harder to walk. It is mainly forest until you get closer to the summit. The view was amazing at the top. There is also an emergency hut here. Take your time and enjoy the view. The descending took 2,5 hours from the Hatasaka trail. There was another hut on the way. The door was open and no one was there. It is for emergency as far as I understood. Don’t forget to write on the guest book there. Although it wasn’t a challenging path I got tired since it was a bit long trail. All the sigs are in Japanese so make sure you know them. They were also broken some of them were hard to see. Hope this comment helps you. Enjoy your hike.
