The beloved series was created by Machiko Hasegawa. I was engrossed by a feeling of Showa era nostalgia. The family focused cartoons and anime are infused with joy and full of wit. Although Ms. Hasagawa passed away almost three decades ago, her work is still a delight and fun to read and watch.
