"昔、大槌湾側に朝日の長者、両石湾側に夕日の長者という海賊を本業とした兄弟の金持ちが住んでいた。海が時化（しけ）た夜には、かがり火を障子に映し船を港におびき寄せ積荷や金品を奪っていた。
ある日、年行事のお神楽がやって来たが、どちらの長者も追い出してしまった。そのお神楽は松の木に権現様を逆さにして通夜をした。それ以来、大沢には大火や疫病など凶事がつづき、滅びてしまった。"
近くの白浜神社には、その大沢地区の『元大澤 稲荷大神、八幡大神』の碑があり。また、山田の大沢地区はこの長者の部下が流れ住んだと言う説もあるとか。箱崎歴史探訪の観光もおもしろいかと思います。

At the nearby Shirahama Shrine, there is a monument of "Former Osawa Inari Okami, Hachiman Okami" in the Osawa area. Also, there is a theory that Yamada's Osawa district lived by a subordinate of this chief. I think that sightseeing in Hakozaki history is also interesting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ここは、白浜地区から少し登った所から徒歩になります。大沢遺跡までも土砂崩れ、倒木で車ではいけません。片道2時間位です。登山装備か良いかも。千畳敷は素晴らしいです。ただ波が穏やかな時以外降りない方がいいかも
This is a short walk from the Shirahama area. Even the Osawa ruins are landslides and must not be driven by fallen trees. One way is about 2 hours. Maybe climbing equipment is good. Senjojiki is wonderful. Maybe it's better not to get off except when the waves are calm
