★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 勘違いされている方もいらっしゃるようなので、念のため。
「幻の八丁の滝」と呼ばれているのは、向かって右端の低いほうです。水沢川という支流が流れ込む地点で見られる小さな滝を指します。
岩の上高くから真っ直ぐ落ちているように見える滝状の流れは自然の滝ではなく、宮ケ瀬ダムが完成した時に作られた人工的な導水路の放水口です。
宮ケ瀬ダムは中津川を堰き止めて作られた大規模ダムですが、ダム湖上流側の河川延長が極めて短く、集水できる面積が小さいために、自らの河川だけでは満水にすることができません。従って北を流れる道志川から余剰の水を引き込むことで貯水量を稼いでいます。
高さがあるほうの滝状のものはこの「道志導水路」の水路トンネル出口から放出されている水ですから、本来の滝とは違います。
自然の滝と信じて撮影されている方も多く見えるようですが、この点を頭に入れた後で撮影されるとガッカリせずに済むかと思います。

It is the lower end of the far right, which is called "Hantai Hatcho Falls". It refers to a small waterfall seen at the point where a tributary named Mizusawa River flows.
The waterfall-like flow that appears to be falling straight from the top of the rock is not a natural waterfall, but an artificial water drainage outlet created when the Miyagase Dam was completed.
The Miyagese Dam is a large-scale dam created by blocking the Nakatsu River, but because the river extension on the upstream side of the dam lake is extremely short and the area that can be collected is small, it can not be filled with water by its own river alone. Therefore, the amount of water storage is earned by drawing surplus water from the Doshigawa, which flows north.
The waterfall with the higher height is the water released from the waterway tunnel exit of this "Doshishi Channel", so it is different from the original waterfall.
It seems that many people believe that it is a waterfall of nature and they are taken, but I think that it will not be disappointed if it is taken after putting this point in my head.

天気がよかったので、いつもは松茸山の駐車場あたりふらふらしてますが、久しぶりに橋の下あたりに降りてみた。
静でいいところだね。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 私が訪問した時は滝は完全に水没していました。今では石に埋もれてしまっているらしい。古い橋の下にあったということです。横のコンクリートの水路から流れ落ちているのは道志からの水とのこと。地元の釣り人からの話。

貯水率が落ち込み、水位が落ちた時のみ出現する。ダムで湖に沈む前は立派な滝だったようです。撮影時は貯水率53%。
※貯水率関係なしにいつでも見られるそうです(^_^;)

道路の上から滝は見えず、観光整備された場所ではないので訪問は気を付けてください。足元はぬかるんでたり、崖を登り降りしなくてはならないので、訪問は両手が使える服装を推奨します。滝の上にも行けますが気を付けてください。
滝は貯水率100%の時は写真程度には見れます。水量も多く水も綺麗ですので普通に眺めるだけでも落ち着く場所です。
