途中かなりの急登があるが、東観望や行者山山頂まで1時間程度で登れる。
ゆずり葉ピークまではなだらかで広い道だが、そこから先は東観望まで尾根を直登する狭い道になる。ザレ場や梯子場もあるかなり急な登りになるので、ちゃんとした靴と手袋を用意した方がいい。
また白瀬川源流ルートはほとんどの行程が沢歩きになり、雨の後はかなり危険になるのと一部綱場もあるので初心者には向かない。
