理不尽な思いをした話。当時算数の授業。配られたプリントを解いていく。公文式に通っていたので人よりも暗算は得意だった。いつも通り解き終わって時計を眺めていると講師が近くに寄ってきて「途中式は？」と聞かれ、「書いていないです」と答える。すると突然「「「筆算しないでとけんのか！！」」」教室中に響き渡る声で怒鳴られ、何を言われてるのか一瞬わからず、何より大きな男性に怒鳴られたことが恐怖で「解けません」となんとかその場を収めるために声を振り絞る。その後のことはよく覚えていないが、答えは全て合っていたし、その講師が私の答えを確認して謝罪することも無かった。恐らく講師は、私が問題を解くのを諦めて適当に答えを書いていると思ったのだと思う。そうだとするなら、あまりに視野が狭い。そのときの問題は二桁×一桁の簡単な掛け算だったから。「めんどうみ合格主義」とうたっているが結局のところ「無理やり型にはめる主義」なのだ。勉強する楽しさを教えたい親御さんたちにはお勧めできない。
