★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 湯治場で、湯船が四角い檜木風呂です。湯の花がいっぱい浮いてます。宿はいまはやってません。良い温泉です。湯船は、二つ有って47位と44位いの温度です。水は出ません。温めの温泉が、好きな人は熱くて入れません。５月のゴールデンウィークに行きました。
At the bathhouse, the bath tub is a square-shaped cypress bath. A lot of hot water flowers are floating. The hotel does not do now. It is a good hot spring. There are two baths, 47 and 44, respectively. There is no water. Hot springs, but people who like it are hot. I went to Golden Week in May.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 浴槽は混浴の小さめな内湯一つのみです。
75℃の源泉をそのままかけ流しているので超激熱ですが、仕切りで調節されているので投入側でない方をよく混ぜれば、43℃強とガマンせず浸かれます。滑らかな感じの湯がとてもいいです。
投入口にコップが置いてあるので飲んでみると、お吸い物のような丁度いい塩加減と、ほんのりと香る硫黄の甘い匂いがとてもいい！
初めて温泉がおいしいと思いました。
建物内や温泉地に自販機がないので、水分補給をしたい場合は、途中どこかで買う必要があります。
訪問時、宿のおばあちゃんに、飲み物売ってませんか？と尋ねたので、湯上りにお茶をいただいてしまいました…ありがとうございました(^ ^)/旦
There is only one small mixed bathing indoor bath.
It is extremely hot because the source of 75 ℃ is flowing as it is, but since it is adjusted by the partition, if you mix well the one that is not on the input side, you can soak it at just over 43 ℃. The smooth water is very nice.
There is a cup in the slot, so when you drink it, the saltiness is just right like a soup and the sweet smell of sulfur with a slight scent is very nice!
I thought the hot spring was delicious for the first time.
There are no vending machines in the building or in the hot spring area, so if you want to rehydrate, you need to buy it somewhere along the way.
Do you sell drinks to your grandmother at the inn when you visit? I asked, so I had tea after the bath ... Thank you (^ ^) / Dan

お母さんが、「卵を持ってくれば、温泉卵を作れるよ」と、言ってくれたので、卵を持ち込んで、温泉卵も作りました。
冬場は、90分程度必要でしょうか。(笑)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 西山温泉の一番下手に位置する下の湯。以前は宿泊もやっていたが今は立ち寄りのみ。主であるおばあちゃんが畑仕事に行っていたりするので行く際は事前に連絡するのが確実。ダシ味効いた溶き卵状湯花が特徴のかなり熱めの湯だったが、同地区にある地熱発電所が再ボーリングしたとかで湯温が下がり、湯花が減っているのが心配。素晴らしい湯なので以前のような激熱の元気な湯が復活してくれたら嬉しい。
Shimo-no-yu located at the bottom of Nishiyama Onsen. I used to stay overnight, but now I only stop by. Your grandmother is going to work in the field, so be sure to contact her before you go. It was a rather hot water characterized by a melting egg-shaped yuhana with a good taste, but I am worried that the temperature has dropped due to the re-boring of a geothermal power plant in the same area, and that the amount of yuhana has decreased. It's a wonderful hot water, so I'd be happy if the energetic hot water like before was revived.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 口コミの高評価が気になるも、時間の都合が付かず、なかなか訪問できなかった下の湯温泉旅館の湯に入湯できました。
こぢんまりとした内湯が個人的に好みで、西山温泉独特の透明でかき玉汁の様な熱いお湯を独占できて大満足?
帰りがけに下の湯の女将さん（？）とお話する機会に恵まれ、イロイロお話ししたところ、下の湯温泉旅館が日帰り入浴のみになったのは今から35年以上前からの事と伺い正直ビックリ?ちなみに西山温泉で最も古い温泉宿だとか。
下の湯に宿泊した経験者は個人的に伝説級だと思えます?
最後に日帰り入浴希望の時は、宿を空ける時が多いので、事前に電話確認してもらえると助かるとの事です。
あとGooglemapで下の湯に通じる道が表示されないと思いますが、滝の湯に向かう手前の路地を進むと吊橋の手前に辿り着けます。
