★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 当日は北西の風が強く、海も大荒れでしたが、天気はすこぶる良く、色々な方向から見ることができました。(逆側から撮ってみました。コジラとは程遠い絵ですね笑)
 The northwest wind was strong and the sea was rough on the day, but the weather was very good and I could see it from various directions. (I took it from the other side. It's a picture far from Kozira, isn't it?)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 男鹿半島の最南西に位置する潮瀬崎。そこに晴れの夕陽の時間になると大勢のカメラマンが集まります。何が目的かと言うと、夕陽に映える「ゴジラ岩」の撮影なんですよ(*^^*)
風化によって作り出された奇岩で、逆光でのシルエットが映画の怪獣のゴジラに似ていることから、平成７年より「ゴジラ岩」と呼ばれるようになりました。
男鹿市の観光用ポスターはもちろん、平成２５年には２４時間テレビで紹介されたこともあり、その名は全国的に広がりました(*^^)v ２０１８年には、じゃらんの「行ってみたい夕日絶景ランキング」で全国２位になったこともあるんですよ！
夕陽を背景に紹介されることが多く、特に口元に夕陽が映る「火を噴くゴジラ」が見応えあります。この写真は朝９時頃ですので、あまりゴジラには見えないかもしれませんね(^_^;)
ちなみに「火を噴くゴジラ」が見られるのは１０月頃のようです。他に、口の中に夕陽が入り込む「夕陽を食べるゴジラ」も人気で、４月ごろが見頃との事。
また、近くには他にも「ゴジラのしっぽ岩」や「ガメラ岩」など怪獣ゆかりの名称の岩や、姿がそっくりな岩が並んでいる「双子岩」、帆掛け船の姿に似ている「帆掛島」があります。ゴジラ岩を合わせた５奇岩が、「日本の奇岩百景＋」に登録されているとの事。帰ってきてから知りました(￣▽￣;)
我が家から車で３時間の距離にあるので中々行けないのですが、次回は５奇岩全部確認し写真撮ってきますね( *´艸｀)
Shiosezaki is located in the southwestern part of the Oga Peninsula. A large number of cameramen gather there during the sunny sunset hours. The purpose is to shoot "Godzilla Rock" that shines in the setting sun (* ^^ *)
It is a strange rock created by weathering, and since its silhouette in the backlight resembles the monster Godzilla in the movie, it has been called "Godzilla rock" since 1995.
Not to mention the tourist poster of Oga City, it was introduced on TV for 24 hours in 2013, and its name spread nationwide (* ^^) v In 2018, Jalan's "Go" I've even been ranked second in Japan in the "Sunset Superb View Ranking"!
It is often introduced against the backdrop of the setting sun, and especially the "Godzilla that blows fire" that reflects the setting sun in the mouth is spectacular. This photo is around 9am, so it may not look like Godzilla (^ _ ^;)
By the way, it seems that "Godzilla that blows fire" can be seen around October. In addition, "Godzilla eating the setting sun", which has the setting sun in its mouth, is also popular, and it is said that it is in full bloom around April.
In addition, there are other rocks with names related to monsters such as "Godzilla's tail rock" and "Gamera rock", "Twin rock" where rocks that look exactly like each other are lined up, and "Twin rock" that resembles the appearance of a sailing ship. There is "Hokakejima". It is said that 5 strange rocks including Godzilla rock are registered in "100 views of strange rocks in Japan +". I knew it after I came back (￣ ▽ ￣;)
I can't go there because it's 3 hours drive from my house, but next time I'll check all 5 strange rocks and take pictures (* ´ 艸 ｀)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2020年8月訪問 感動の人生初ゴジラがココ。 案内看板に従って岩場を進むも、見る角度によって形が変わるし、ガメラもその他もいるしで、発見まで４分を費やした。 ゴツゴツした足元に気を付けて制覇してください。転んだら血だるまですよ。
Visited in August 2020: The first Godzilla in my moving life is here. Although I went through the rocky area according to the signboard, the shape changed depending on the viewing angle, and there were Gamera and others, so it took 4 minutes to discover. Please be careful of your rugged feet and conquer. If you fall, you'll be a bloody man.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2021年10月に行った時はゴジラ岩近くの駐車場は工事のため封鎖されていました。
ゴジラ岩には近づく事が出来ますが石だらけの海岸線を歩きますので動きやすい靴を履いていくことをお勧めします。
When I went in October 2021, the parking lot near Godzilla Rock was closed due to construction work.
You can get close to Godzilla Rock, but it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes as you will walk along the stone-filled coastline.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ まだ寒い時期のせいか、人はまばらでした。
周辺の道路沿いは路肩が広く、駐車しやすいでした。
ゴジラ岩までは海側に回り込む感じなので少しばかし歩きますが、足元がゴツゴツしているので、スニーカー等の歩き易い靴がオススメです。
近くで見るより、薄暗い時間帯に少し離れた所で見ると迫力があります。
天気が良ければ鳥海山も見えます。
People were sparse, probably because it was still cold.
The shoulders were wide along the surrounding roads, making it easy to park.
It feels like wrapping around to the sea side to the Godzilla rock, so I walk a little foolishly, but since my feet are rugged, I recommend shoes that are easy to walk, such as sneakers.
It is more powerful to look at it from a distance during dim hours than to look at it from a close distance.
If the weather is nice, you can see Mt. Chokai.

Parking is more than enough. Small lighthosue nearby.
During high tide might not be possible to go near to the rock.
Best to view during sunset time.
Bonus tip- drive clockwise direction on this island for more beautiful experience
