★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 近畿三十六不動巡礼の際に参拝しました。現在、五大堂にあった五大明王像は宝物館に収蔵しています。堂内の壁には菩薩や天が書かれていました。片道2時間程かかり、結構大変でした。
I worshiped during the Kinki Thirty-six Fudo Pilgrimage. Currently, the Five Great Myo King statues that were in Godaido are stored in the Treasure Museum. Bodhisattvas and heavens were written on the walls inside the hall. It took about 2 hours each way, which was quite difficult.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ かつては文化財に指定されている五大明王が祀られ、2月23日の五大力仁王会の前行法要をここで行っていました。現在、五大明王像は霊宝館へうつりましたが、五大力菩薩の壁画がそのまま安置されています。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 五大明王を祀る醍醐寺の五大堂は醍醐天皇の御願堂として延喜13年(913)に建立されたそうです。もとは如意輪堂近くにあったそうですが慶長13年(1608)復興の際に現在地に移されたそうです。現在の建物は昭和15年(1940)の再建されたものだそうです。
The Five Great Halls of Daigoji Temple, which enshrines the Five Great Myo Kings, are said to have been built in Engi 13 (913) as the wish hall of Emperor Daigo. Originally it was near Nyoirinji Temple, but it was moved to the present location during the reconstruction in 1608. The current building is said to have been rebuilt in 1940.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 五大堂 - 聖宝が鎮護国家の祈願道場として延喜13年（913年）に創建。慶長11年（1606年）に豊臣秀頼によって再建された。現在の堂は1940年（昭和15年）の再建。
Godaido --- Shobo was founded in Engi 13 (913) as a prayer dojo for the guardian state. It was rebuilt by Toyotomi Hideyori in 1606 (Keicho 11). The current hall was rebuilt in 1940 (Showa 15).

中には大きな伍大力さんの絵が掛けられています。
この醍醐山を東へ抜けると、滋賀県に行きます。
が、今回は吹雪いてきたのもあり、元来た道を引き返しました。
噂通り、難所の一つでした。
しんどい思いもししたが、キリっと引き締った空気、小鳥のさえずり、吹雪が木々は葉にあたる音、霜がおりた箇所を踏みしめる足音等々を見聞きする事が出来、良い時間を過ごせました。
醍醐水を飲めなかったのが残念でした。
醍醐水のお堂から上がると准胝堂跡があります。今は更地になっていました。
更に坂を登ると薬師堂があり、その先には鐘楼・休憩所があります。
鐘楼を左に進むと五大堂、右へ進むと頂上になり、如意輪堂・白山大権現・開山堂・上醍醐陵があります。
鳥居を降りていくと『東の覗き』『奥の院』へ向います。
奥の院へは細い木の鳥居が目印です。脇道がルートにも見えるので、鳥居をくぐる道を選んでください。

I was sorry that I could not drink Daigo water.
If you go up from the Daigosui temple, you will see the ruins of the Junsendo. Now it was vacant.
Further up the slope is the Yakushido, and there is a bell tower and rest area in front of it.
Go to the bell tower to the left for Godaido, and to the right for the summit.
When you get off the torii, you will head to "Eastern Peeping" and "Okunoin".
A small wooden torii gate is a landmark to the Okunoin. The side road can be seen as a route, so please choose the road that goes through the torii.
