京都土産としてお香を使う時は、やはり「祇園」の地名が付いているここの物を選ぶ事が多いです。
An incense store for Gion-cho purveyors. Perhaps because of the location, I feel a scent.
When using incense as a Kyoto souvenir, I often choose the one here with the place name of "Gion".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ お香は好みがありますから、誰にでも勧められるというわけではありませんが、京都のお寺さんの薫りと言えば想像してもらえるでしょうか。京都に行ったとき、練香、抹香、線香、防虫香、等を買って帰ります。京都らしい香り、残り香が長く残ります。
I don't recommend it to anyone because I like incense, but can you imagine the scent of a temple in Kyoto? When I went to Kyoto, I bought some incense, matcha, incense, insect repellent, and so on. The scent of Kyoto, the remaining scent remains for a long time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been coming to this place since the late 90’s when I was living in Japan just after college. If you want a unique gift for yourself or others in terms of incense, then this place is awesome, but keep in mind that they probably won’t speak English. However, I highly recommend getting the “Koe Toe May” incense. The Japanese for that is 紅乙女 and is also spelled こおとめ In hiragana. It comes in packets of 100g. I put it in one of those electric wax incense warmers that has the little ceramic dish on top. It’s such a great smell and definitely different than say a normal scented candle. Plus, you can buy little silk crepe fabric flowers and other doo dads that have the incense already inside of them.
Please show the shopkeeper ladies this sentence if you want to buy 100g of that Koe Toe May incense.
“紅乙女を100グラムお願いします。”
