★ ★ ★ ★ ★ かつて骨寺村（ほねでらむら）と呼ばれた一関市厳美町本寺地区の西の境に山王窟（さんのうのいわや）という切り立った岩山があります。ここは昔「山王の鬼」と呼ばれた蝦夷（えみし）が立て籠もり、坂上田村麻呂と激しく戦った場所といわれています。それで負けた鬼が息絶えたところが一ノ関の真柴の「鬼死骸」。そういうバス停がある。切られた首がすっ飛んでった場所が「鬼首」だってじいちゃんが言ってた。昔、一ノ関の千葉久までバスで買い物に行った時、「次はオニシガイ、オニシガイです・・・」ってバスが止まったら確かにそういう漢字だった。
鬼が立て籠もった山王窟は現在道が悪く立ち入り禁止のようです。骨寺村荘園遺跡。
この辺は骨とか鬼とか変な地名が多いなぁ

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 矢びつ温泉湧出場所少し行った所から奥の山王窟まで立ち入り禁止です。ここから山王窟を見るのはなかなかできません。
It is forbidden to go to the Sanno cave in the back from the place where the Yabitu hot spring springs a little. It's hard to see Sanno caves from here.
