Ganjoji Temple - Ichinoseki

静で心落着き、 本堂は涼しく癒されます。

歴史あるお寺です。伊達家の御墓も有ります。

知人のお母様の葬儀に参列した際にお邪魔しました。とても立派で綺麗なお寺様でした。

ゆっくりとした時を過ごさせて頂きました。

住職と副住職の読経のハモリは、いつ聞いても素晴らしいです 声が優しいお二人なので聞き応え有り‼️ 御寺も綺麗にしていますよ 隣接するこども園も父兄の挨拶は嬉しく思います

平日でした、ゆっくりとお参りし、草取りをさせて頂きました。萩、彼岸花が素敵に咲いております。 銀杏の木も色づいたら?また、行きたいですね?

法要前にお墓そうじ。隣の空き地には２ｍを超える木が。今年伐採してれると言う話でしたが、もう予算がないということで今年もこのまま。その空地と接している墓地のひとには大変迷惑。やっぱり１年前にお願いしていてもお寺の都合が最優先。１檀家のお願いはいつになったら実現するのかな！？ ２０２２年３月下旬、お彼岸時点で空き地の木は伐採されていました。 法要で、和尚さんがそれではご焼香をお願いしますと焼香を促します。 ところが香炉の火が消えています。こう言う時どうするか。問い合わせたら、その時に教えて下さいとのことです。お経中でも良いそうです。知らないので出来ませんでした。次に同じ事があったら、お経中でもお願いするつもりです。

Disclaimer: I'm not Buddhist, and I mean no disrespect to anybody of the Buddhist religion. It was a rather luke warm morning. As my companion and I set off for adventure, we soon discovered this amazing place. Upon our arrival at the front gates, we were taken in shock at the shear size of the gate (I have been in Japan for just over a year, and have visited many shrines). As we approached the gates we were dumbfounded at the size of the gods placed inside as a protection against evil. If I were to be some evil spirit trying to attack the ancestors of those I despise, I would run with my tail between my legs and ears on fire, because man those God's were ripped man. The one looked like he could've grabbed a full grown rhinoceros and taken him for 6 rounds in the ring before getting tired and just slamming him in a full Nelson!! Now the other guy protecting the spirits of great ancestors was also quite well equipped, with the arms that looked as if they could tear a mountain in half just for a warm up! But sorry, we have gotten a little of topic. After we stepped through the front gates, we were greeted by a rather steep set of stairs. It did look like is was wheelchair accessible from the side though, so don't worry about bringing grandma and grandpa they should be able to make it just fine. After this point we stepped into the court yard of the actual shrine. And a beautiful site it was. We were enjoying the splendor of the scenery when we realized we had not payed proper respect to the caretaker, so we're promptly made our way over the the basin and payed the respective amount. From this point we were able to travel around the back side and see the size of the grounds. It was a forested hill with many graves on it. After a short hike we soon came go realize that it was take a lot more time then we had to truly understand the size of this place. That is when we came to Google maps. It was a large area we saw, upon noticing a road to the side of here, we decided to bike up it. So we could reach the top of the hill of course. As we left the shrine we turned back and noticed that the gate God's were almost bidding us a farewell. We had come and gone without upsetting the dead. Over all I'd say, this was a grand experience. I would go back one day.
