★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing store that deals professionally in ready-made food and other groceries for cooking. The cashier was quite friendly too. It's a bit like the Life chain stores, but I think the quality of food is even better here than Life. Definitely recommended, especially for people who can't/hate to cook or travelers.
PS: You might feel bad that the food here is coming from Fukushima-ken, where the nuclear plant blew up. But... I think they have laws to protect their citizens. No...?

They don't use additives / preservatives for their breads, pastries, as well as ready-to-go bento box etc., which also means short expiry dates. The name Fukushima comes from the last name of the store owner, and nothing to do with Fukushima pref. Veggies are mostly organic. Great sushi selection, too. I personally like the fresh fish section, as I believe the price is very reasonable. Though the store is not that big as it is located 3min walk from JR Akihabara, they carry everything you need.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I picked up some fresh strawberries here at Fukushimaya Akihabara! It's a very spacious supermarket in the heart of bustling Akihabara, with your selection of fruits, veggies, everything. For the strawberries, I went for the large open container of 650g, at ¥1270. Note for the open container, they do not provide lids, just put in a plastic bag. Be careful not to squish them.
