★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Eating at Fukumimi was a fantastic experience. As noted in other reviews, the staff were incredibly welcoming and created an atmosphere which was super lively and fun. We ordered a range of yakitori and side dishes, including chicken neck, skin and hearts skewers and the seared mackerel. All were very good. Sitting at the counter is especially cool, as you’re right in front of the chefs cooking up a storm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ quite a disappointment for a 4* rated yakitori specialist bar in shinjuku area. cod fish egg roll was too cooked, flavour ran without egg layers. assorted chicken yakitori was too fatty, slightly overcooked, not the best way to enjoy. best dish was the compulsory entry/introductory cracker.... we left half way through.
tip: note it's an indoor smoking restaurant. you'll come out like one.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wait staff is really nice and they have English version of the menus. Skewers are very good and make sure to try the smoked marinated oyster too. The Sochu drinks are really refreshing and the chita whiskey is their version of scotch!

Highball here are quite strong which goes well with the yakitoris. Potato salad is their signature and it's really different from the usual, definitely worth trying.
It gets quite busy, definitely need to reserve a table to get the best experience.
