駐車場から歩いてすぐの大きく綺麗な湖
休憩所があるので腰をおろし湖を眺めて見るのはオススメです。

この日は快晴！ 青い空と木々の緑のコントラストが見事です。 まだ紅葉には早かったようです。
駐車場は高台にあり、散策へ行くには急な傾斜の階段を下りる必要があります。 足の不自由な方は、キョロロの前で降りておいた方が良いです。
キョロロの横に障がい者用の駐車場も有ります。
It is on the road to Aoike from the toll parking lot in Kyororo Forest Product Center.
It's sunny on this day! The contrast between the blue sky and the green of the trees is wonderful. It seems that it was still early for the autumn leaves.
The parking lot is on a hill and you have to go down the steep stairs to go for a walk. For people with disabilities, it is better to get off in front of Kyororo.
There is also a parking lot for people with disabilities next to Kyororo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 森の物産館キョロロから歩き出して間もなくの、鬱蒼とした広葉樹林に囲まれた大きな池です。鶏頭場（けとば）の池の名前の由来は、上空から見たら鶏の頭の形をしているからとのこと。池の色は薄いオリーブグリーンですが、光の加減によっては浅葱色にも見えます。畔の歩道は広くて歩きやすいです。池の向こうに白神岳への稜線途中にある崩山（標高940m）を望みます。十二湖の湖沼群は崩山の崩落によって出来たといわれ、実際は三十三湖あるとのこと。
鶏頭場の池の南端まで歩くと青池があり、そのすぐ手前に白神岳・崩山への十二湖登山口があります。ちなみに登山口から崩山の山頂までは2時間から2時間半の行程ですが、急で険しいそうです。崩山への登山道の途中にある大崩展望台から、眼下に見える湖沼の数が12だったため十二湖と名付けられました。 大崩展望台からは白神岳や日本海も展望できるそうです。
