★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この瑠璃光殿で、薬師涅槃像に関する解説の録音音声がいつも流れていますが、その中で「應病與薬（おうびょうよやく）」という言葉を「おうびょうこうやく」と間違って読んでいます。いくら與（"与"の旧字体）の字が興と似ているからといって、「おうびょうこうやく」では意味が通りません。明らかに間違った説明ですが、数十年の間まったく訂正されず、今でも堂々と流れています。騙されないよう注意してください。正しくは「おうびょうよやく」です。病に応じて薬を与えるから、おうびょうよやく、なのです。薬は「興（おこ）す」ものではありません。「与（あた）える」ものです。

ちなみに、アユタヤで拝観した涅槃像は、正面から見て頭が左。こちらは、右です。わざと方向を変えているのかな？
