清潔感のある校舎の脇に、大きなヒマラヤスギがそびえたち、角には庚申塚があり、素朴な魅力を放つ小学校であります。
私は卒業生ではありませんが、元気な子供達が通ってます。
近所の石蔵前でスズメやハトを撮影していると、子供の一人が寄ってきて、周りの子供たちが、知らない人に近づくと危ないよ、と声を上げるではないですか。
危ない人じゃないよ、スズメやハトを撮っているだけだよ、と私は応えますが、小さな子は私の側を離れません。子供たちはなおも声を上げます。さらわれるよ、と。
さらわない！ 撮るのはスズメとハトだけ、写真だけ！ と不審者扱いされないように弁明し、すっかり遠くへ逃げてしまった鳥をズームして私はシャッターを切り、早々に学校近くの石蔵を後にしたのでした。
元気な子供たちにたじたじになったおっさんのエピソードでした。
