五	五十嵐正臣 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 説明板が建っており下のように書かれてます。現在の国際文化会館の庭園の前身は、昭和四年（1929）に三菱の四代目当主岩崎小弥太（1879～1945）が建設した岩崎家鳥居坂本邸の庭園です。この庭園は、京都の造園家「植治（うえじ）」の小川治兵衛の作庭によるものでした。「植治」の歴代当主小川治兵衛は数多くの庭園を作庭しており、近代日本庭園作庭の先駆者として著名です。本庭園は、崖に面した南側と鳥居坂に面した東側に植栽が施され、その内側に池を設けた池泉回遊式の日本庭園であり、入口部の岩組なども優れています。また昭和五年の岩崎邸実測平面図と比較しても、作庭当初の姿を大筋において残していることがわかります。岩崎邸は昭和二十年（1945）五月の空襲で焼失し、その後昭和三十年には国際文化会館が建設されました。この建物は前川國男・吉村順三・板倉準三の共同設計による戦後日本の優れた建築ですが、旧岩崎邸の庭園との調和を最大限に考慮する姿勢が認められます。本庭園は、近代日本庭園として優れたものであるとともに、国際文化会館と調和した景観を作り出している天からも高く評価されます。 A description board is built and written as below. The current predecessor of the International Cultural Center's garden was the Iwasaki Family Torii Sakamoto House's garden, which was built by Kota Iwasaki (1879-1945), the fourth owner of Mitsubishi in 1929. This garden was created by Jihei Ogawa, a gardener in Kyoto, Ueji. The successive owners of "Ueji", Jihei Ogawa, have created numerous gardens and are well known as the pioneers of modern Japanese gardening. The main garden is a Japanese style garden with a pond on the south side facing the cliff and on the east side facing Toriizaka, and a pond inside it, and the rock formation at the entrance is also excellent. In addition, comparing with the actual floor plan of the Iwasaki House in 1975, it can be seen that the original appearance of the garden is left in outline. The Iwasaki House was burned down in an air raid in May 1945 (Showa 20), and the International Cultural Center was built in 1930. This building is an excellent post-war Japanese building co-designed by Kunio Maekawa, Junzo Yoshimura, and Junzo Itakura, but it is recognized that it takes the maximum consideration of harmony with the garden of the former Iwasaki Residence. The main garden is excellent as a modern Japanese garden, and is highly rated by the heavens, which creates a landscape in harmony with the International House of Japan.
